Singapore City Gallery stands as a premier visitor centre charting Singapore's extraordinary urban transformation and visionary future plans over the past half-century. Located within The URA Centre and managed by the Urban Redevelopment Authority, the three-storey facility welcomes thousands of visitors annually.

SubscribeEstablished in January 1999 and originally known as the URA Gallery, the institution underwent major renovations in 2004 and 2011 to incorporate cutting-edge interactive exhibits. These updates earned the gallery prestigious honours at the Singapore Design Awards.
Occupying a total area of 2,400 square metres across ten thematic areas, the gallery offers an immersive look into sustainable development, architectural heritage, and creative urban design strategies.
Inside the Iconic Central Area Model and Interactive Exhibits
The Central Area Model serves as the crown jewel of the Singapore City Gallery, occupying a massive 11 metre by 10 metre architectural display on the second floor. Built at a 1:400 scale using balsa wood and acrylic, it meticulously details Singapore's core district.
Architects and urban planners regularly utilize this working model to simulate new growth areas, test out-of-the-box design concepts, and collaborate effectively with developers and the local community.
Visitors can also explore the Central Area Discoverer, an interactive digital library featuring over one hundred video stories and one thousand historical and contemporary images of the city's evolving landscape.
Open from Monday to Saturday, Singapore City Gallery continues to serve as an invaluable public resource for understanding how forward-thinking governance creates a thriving urban environment.
