"I needed to run my best corner, and, instead, I got caught up in the moment racing him. In turn, that led me down a path to make an enemy I did not need to make and make a terrible decision that took ourselves out of contention to win."
The pivotal contact happened when Love entered turn one too high and slid into Allgaier, allowing Love to briefly take the lead before trouble found him. Taylor Gray quickly forced Love into the wall, handing the top spot to William Sawalich just before a late caution forced an overtime restart.
