Liam Lawson has detailed exactly how tailoring the Red Bull as close as possible to what he wanted has helped him thrive upon his return to the senior team at the Dutch GP.
Stepping in for Isack Hadjar due to a broken wrist, Lawson faced a steep learning curve with just a single practice hour to master the RB22 around the challenging Zandvoort circuit.

SubscribeDespite missing out on SQ3 in Sprint Qualifying, the New Zealander rallied impressively to secure eighth place on the grid for Sunday's race, finishing just a fraction behind team-mate Max Verstappen.
"The target was to keep improving for the weekend, and I think by quali that was a good job from everybody to help me get comfortable in the car, or as comfortable as possible," Lawson told accredited media.
Lawson Explains Red Bull Difference and Confidence
"For me, I feel like I extracted pretty much everything I had out of the car," he added, reflecting on his remarkable resilience during an unexpected weekend cameo.
Liam Lawson also divulged that having the confidence to adapt the Red Bull more to his liking than he did during his initial, difficult 2025 spell has been vital in unlocking the car's potential.
"I went into last year, obviously thought I was going to have more time in the car, so I was more or less just adapting to everything that Max had," Lawson explained regarding his past struggles.
"This weekend, I just said, "Let's make it as close to my car as possible, and forget everything that he has, and try and make it as close to my car, feeling-wise", and I think that helps.'
