Volvo prepares 13 new electrified models in its biggest product offensive by 2030

Volvo is embarking on the most ambitious product offensive in its 99-year history, rolling out 13 new electrified models between 2026 and 2030 to navigate a challenging global market. Facing recent sales declines, the Swedish automaker is accelerating its transformation into a fully electric and hybrid powerhouse.

According to investor briefings, this rollout marks the densest launch period ever scheduled by the company. Seven new vehicles will target European and North American markets, while six specialized models are tailored specifically for consumers in China, utilizing shared components to drive efficiency.

The strategic shift aims to dramatically improve corporate margins, targeting an EBIT level above 8% by 2030. By increasing shared parts across platforms from 10% to 30%, Volvo expects to significantly reduce manufacturing costs and streamline production cycles.

For Western markets, the lineup will rely heavily on advanced SPA2 and SPA3 electric architectures. These platforms support 800-volt ultra-fast charging and integrate the HuginCore computing system, transforming vehicles into software-defined experiences with over-the-air updates.

Regional Strategy and Future Showrooms

The Chinese sector of the product roadmap will utilize platforms and software solutions provided by Geely. This localized approach allows Volvo to remain fiercely competitive against domestic competitors by cutting down development times and sharing robust supply chains.

In addition to expanding vehicle choices, the manufacturer plans to revolutionize its retail experience. Dealerships will feature transparent pricing structures, simplified configuration choices, and expedited delivery options to enhance customer satisfaction.

"Nos showrooms auront un visage très différent en 2030", promised Hakan Samuelsson, president and CEO of Volvo Cars, highlighting the sweeping changes coming to global dealerships.

"C'est notre gamme de produits la plus forte de tous les temps, adaptée aux besoins régionaux et qui met en avant notre ambition d'être la marque automobile premium de référence", added Samuelsson, outlining the brand's core vision for the next decade.
